9. Stone Cold & Dude Love

Yes, of course everyone loved the uncharacteristic pairing of The Rock and Mankind, whose tenure as The Rock N' Sock Connection sneakily provided some of the best matches of the era. But Stone Cold and Dude Love being partnered up was even better in some respects. Although Dude Love's debut was a little awkward--he announces himself as Austin's tag partner halfway through a match that Stone Cold was already winning by himself--that was part of the magic between these two. They were awkward together. They were begrudging teammates at the best best of times, but Dude Love's unstoppable innocence got Stone Cold shake off the harsher side of his personality from time to time. The redneck and the hippie didn't look alike, sound alike, or wrestle alike, but dammit they were a fine twosome. If it weren't for Austin getting his neck broken shortly after their coupling, Stone Cold and Dude Love could have went far together.
