11 Most Watched WWE Wrestling Matches Ever

3. The Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels €“ Hell In A Cell (Badd Blood 1997)

Bloody and violent, this was the first ever Hell In A Cell match in WWE History. For that reason alone, many fans checked it out. The uniqueness and graphic nature of several spots ensured that repeat viewings were necessary. Michaels falling off the cell was like nothing fans had ever seen before, although it would be overshadowed by Mankind a year later. You also had the severe blood loss that Michaels sustained. He was gushing the claret and it was one of those things that fans couldn't resist looking at. Add to that the sickest chair shot ever seen in WWE, when The Undertaker crashed a steel chair into Michaels' skull with unforgiving force. Things like that just keep fans coming back to watch, as sick as it is, it's also strangely irresistible, probably because it is so rare and unlike any other WWE matches. It was a hell of a contest and is one of the very few WWE matches to win Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer 5 stars. With that sort of reputation it is understandable why this has became essential viewing over the last two decades.
