10. Backstage Segment Builds Cruiserweight Character

It was quite simple, the backstage interaction between Cruiserweight Champion, TJ Perkins, and the #1 contender to his title, THE Brian Kendrick; TJP merely walked up to him and told him that there was no need for TBK to go down a darker path and do things unbecoming of his character and that he would be just fine being the guy who once drove Perkins to his wrestling matches before the Cruiserweight Classic winner even had a driver's license.

The handshake, the attempted blindside assault, and the lightning quick physical response was poignantly perfect. Both parties will have to settle for good, old-fashioned fed-up mentor vs. younger and more talented protege storytelling.

The segment lasted no longer than two-minutes but was as effective as any segment this week at establishing character for both wrestlers and adding fuel to the fire for their next pay-per-view match; sometimes, you cannot help but wonder if a WWE TV show mostly full of segments like it would be exactly the sort of foundation-rebuilding programming that would
