For a second straight week, Monday Night Raw was logically built throughout the night around its show-closing match. WWE did a good job of putting something important and meaningful on the line for the main-event, aided by the rumours from as far back as two months ago that Chris Jericho would be added to the title mix.

Rollins and Jericho proceeded to have the best match on an otherwise uninspiring in-ring night for the red team but, in the end, the Architect got the pin and the win to confirm his rematch inside Hell in a Cell with Kevin Owens would not be a triple threat match for the Universal Championship.

The strength of Raw this week was the on-going relationship between Owens and Jericho and the subtle hints that suggested tension between them might build faster than presumed should Y2J defeat Rollins and be set in opposition to his "best friend". That payoff was postponed by the Rollins victory, but it feels imminent and seems likely to come before the end of the year.

Of everything that happened on Monday Night Raw, the Jericho-Rollins match was the most engaging.
