11 Newsworthy Moments From Chris Jericho's Cruise (And What They Mean For Wrestling In 2019)

4. Cody Denies The Elite Is WWE Bound

Speculation has been swirling for months about where The Elite and its individual members will end up in 2019. It was reported in August that Marty Scurll had signed a six-month contract extension with Ring of Honor, keeping him with the company until April of next year. Meanwhile, it's widely known that the rest of The Elite -- Cody, Adam Page, The Young Bucks, and even Kenny Omega -- are set to become free agents by the end of January.

Rumors have persisted that the group will be WWE bound by the beginning of 2019, and those rumors were even previously abetted by The Elite themselves. However, during the cruise, Cody took it upon himself to outright state that they will not be joining WWE in the new year.

Still, it's unclear if The Elite will stay remain with Ring of Honor and New Japan or if they have something else entirely in mind. However, word has now come directly from the horse’s mouth that WWE is off the table. After that bombshell announcement, many began to immediately speculate on the status of the rumored ALL IN 2.
