11 NXT Call-Ups Who Are No Longer With WWE
4. Big Cass
As previously noted, Enzo and Cass were quite the popular tandem in NXT despite never once holding the NXT Tag Team Championship. They were booked fairly well in their first few months on the main roster but saw their popularity decline once they started to lose more often.
Eventually, WWE saw more money in Big Cass as a singles star and decided to prematurely break the loudmouth duo up in June 2017. However, it was Enzo Amore who ended up flourishing on his own while Cass faded off into obscurity after suffering an injury that put him on the shelf for eight months.
Upon his return to the ring the following spring, Cass was poised to be a top talent on SmackDown Live, which was evident from his feud with Daniel Bryan. He got the better of the bearded wonder on a handful of occasions but never actually managed to beat him one-on-one. Two days removed from his last loss to Bryan at Money in the Bank, Cass was released by WWE.
A backstage altercation with Carmella was rumored to be the reason behind his departure. With that, both members of The Realest Guys in the Room had been booted from the room two years after making their main roster debuts.
