11 Shocks We Could See At WWE SummerSlam 2014

2. Cena Joins Paul Heyman And Turns Heel

Could we see a double turn this weekend? It already seems likely that the smart LA audience will cheer Lesnar and boo Cena. But could we actually see Cena formally going heel? It sounds far out, but it might actually happen. Cena did reference 'turning' in his Raw speech last week, also stating that he'd win by any means necessary. Just imagine the reaction and interest generated if Mania 17 was rebooted, Heyman in the McMahon role, Cena in the Austin role. Brock would be about to beat Cena when Heyman runs the ring. Lesnar questions his advocate's actions, before Cena aims a low blow from behind. Heyman then hands the champion a steel chair, which Cena excitedly accepts. The merits and pitfalls of turing Cena are well documented. You'd probably say it was unlikely, but then you probably said that about Undertaker losing at WrestleMania. If WWE want to top the streak shock, this would be a hell of a way to do it. Cena turning heel and Lesnar going babyface would completely reshape the WWE product. Raw the next night would be the highest rating of the year and interest would hopefully extend for months on end. If WWE needs a whirlwind to ignite WWE Network subscriptions, Cena going heel could be the answer.
