11 Things WWE Got Right At Survivor Series 2016

5. The Brian Kendrick Retains His Title

This is most likely a minority opinion, but keeping the Cruiserweight Championship on The Brian Kendrick was the right idea. The match between Kendrick and Kalisto was unnecessarily loaded, an open admittance on the part of WWE that the revamped division on Raw simply isn't working. Most assumed the King of the Lucha Thing would prevail here and bring the division over to SmackDown Live.

Kalisto should certainly be involved in the division, but one does not fix the cruiserweight mess by simply shifting it over to a show that is already an hour shorter than Raw. Kendrick deserves a better run than a transitional reign, and a Kalisto win here would have caused all sorts of mess in the division.

This without mentioning that Kalisto has been somewhat terrible over the last few months. Sure, he's missed time with injury but ever since his infamous 'Lucha thing' promo the masked man has seemed short on confidence. Putting an entire division on his shoulders here would have been a terrible idea.

Although the idea of Baron Corbin trucking cruiserweights and telling them all to go back to Ring of Honor is a delightful one.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
