11 Things WWE Got Wrong At SummerSlam 2017

9. Where Is The Intercontinental Championship?

Speaking of the Intercontinental Championship, it was the only title not defended on the second biggest show of the year. The title has been in the doldrums for all of 2017, not helped by a feud between The Miz and Dean Ambrose that seemingly lasted for all eternity. Miz has since transitioned into a feud with a freezing cold Jason Jordan. It isn’t a good time for the title.

A sure fire way of reducing the credibility of a championship is to ignore it on a major show. Much is often made about restoring the credibility of the Intercontinental Championship, but the truth is it may be beyond salvation at this point. WWE only has themselves to blame.

Is there any point discussing what WWE can do to revitalise the title at this point? How difficult would it be to put the title on Finn Bálor and let him defend it on a regular basis?
