11 Things WWE Got Wrong At SummerSlam 2017
3. Rusev's SummerSlam Misery Continues
As with Cena and Corbin, I have absolutely no qualms with Randy Orton beating Rusev. Like it or not Orton is still one of WWE’s biggest stars, even if he is having a 2017 to forget. The Viper came out on the losing side of a feud with Jinder Mahal, and as such needed a big win to get back on track. A win over Rusev, the 21st century Haku, makes sense.
But a 10-second one move squash? Really? Could Rusev have looked any weaker than he did here? This must be a running joke, as this was the second straight year that the Bulgarian Brute was involved in short nonsense at SummerSlam. In 2016 Rusev’s match with Roman Reigns never happened, this year his bout with Orton barely happened.
On a show where Big Cass and Big Show got more than 10 minutes to do a whole heap of nothing, this was absolutely criminal.
