11 Things WWE Must Do To Survive In 2016

2. Lose The Third Hour Of Raw

Let me clarify that I'm fully aware the last two entries on this list have less than zero percent chance of happening intentionally, but that doesn't mean they aren't dire needs for the company. Let's start with the thrid hour of Monday Night Raw. It's got to go. Even the most diehard, passionate WWE fan is not sitting in front of their television for three hours every Monday night. In the digital age, we're all DVRing the show and fast-forwarding through the dull parts, which is unfortunately an alarmingly large percentage of each episode. Think of how commercially successful and critically acclaimed shows like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and True Detective are. We anxiously await each week's episode to dive into a world that grips us for the entirety of the one hour runtime. Those shows are 10-16 episodes per season. Now picture the writers of The Walking Dead being told that the show is moving from 16 installments a season to airing weekly year round. Oh and by the way, it's increasing from a one hour show to three. You know what you'd get? People groaning and complaining about seeing the same people wandering around and killing zombies over and over again. It would get stale in (the lack of) a heartbeat. It doesn't matter how good the Raw writers are; they're workload is just too severe and the third hour - while it may make USA happy - has been an indisputable failure in increasing fan interest. It's an albatross around the company's neck that will continue to bog them down in the quicksand of creative burnout.
