11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania

1. The True Main Event Of WrestleMania 20

The WrestleMania 20 main event is a great match that WWE can't acknowledge anymore because of the involvement of Chris Benoit. When WWE released the "Mr. WrestleMania" DVD for Shawn Michaels recently, they included all of his WrestleMania matches except this one. It was a triple threat match that also involved World Champion Triple H and Royal Rumble winner Chris Benoit. The New York City crowd absolutely loved Benoit in his quest to become the World Champion. It was also the first time a WrestleMania was headlined by a triple threat, so we didn't know if it would work. Not only did it work, but we got a classic match out of it. Check out the WrestleMania 20 photo gallery on WWE.com. The last match pictured was the Undertaker's match with Kane. No photos of the actual main event. At least on WWE Network it is shown in its entirety, but otherwise WWE wants us to forget it even happened. It's understandable that WWE wants to erase Benoit from the history books. He murdered his wife and son as well as himself. The Benoit murder story is the biggest black mark on the wrestling industry. It was a match where the right guy was put over the right way, where Triple H tapped out clean and Michaels did his part to make them all look great too. The booking was exactly as it should have been. It's just that WWE is never going to acknowledge it that way again. The WrestleMania 20 main event is also the match that WWE doesn't want us to remember more than anything else.
