11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania

7. Hulk Hogan's Black Eye At WrestleMania 9 Was Due To Jet Ski Accident

When Hulk Hogan returned to WWE for WrestleMania 9 to team with Brutus Beefcake, he did so with a very pronounced black eye. There were plenty of rumors about what happened to him. In the storyline, they tried to cover it up by saying that Money Inc. (Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster) attacked him and caused the injury. This was one of those things where wrestling fans have heard a story about "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who was on commentary for the show, punching Hogan in the face the night before. It wasn't true. Here's an interview with Hogan talking about the injury. What's interesting is that Hogan admits to lying about the Savage thing because he didn't want WWE to know about the jet ski accident. Savage was apparently upset about it too. Hogan told the doctor that it was due to Savage, so that's why people believe it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3mHeW9_PEU He said it happened during a jet skiing accident on the day before WrestleMania. Of course this is Hulk Hogan, who has been known as one of the biggest liars in the history of wrestling. In this case, it does seem like he's telling the truth. It's just that WWE didn't want you to know what really happened and apparently neither did Hogan.
