11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Great Khali

6. His 'Relationship' With Jinder Mahal

When The Great Khali helped Jinder Mahal emerge victorious from the Punjabi Prison against Randy Orton, it wasn't explicity stated exactly why he was lending a hand to The Maharaja, besides implied shared ethnicity and a sense of pride for his most wondrous architectural achievement.

Specifically, it was never brought up that the two were once supposedly brothers-in-law at the centre of a bitter family feud.

Back in 2011, in an abortive attempt to boost an ailing Khali's career, a heel Jinder was retconned such that he was tied to the big man's sister. For some reason, this meant Khali was subservient to Mahal, and was duty bound to his master lest he divorce his sister and leave him in penury.

Gripping stuff, but unfortunately it was never resolved. Eventually, the Punjabi Playboy simply upped sticks and left Mahal to it. Presumably they made up during some family occasion in the last half a dozen years, but WWE aren't keen to eludicate us.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
