Rosa Mendes made her main roster debut as a fan obsessed with Beth Phoenix way back in November 2008, holding up signs proclaiming herself to be the Glamazon's biggest follower. This led to Santino Marella introducing her to the world and egging her on to attack Phoenix's main rival at the time, Melina.

Stephanie McMahon banned Mendes from WWE events, but to the shock of no one, Rosa circumvented this by posing as a paparazzo in Melina's entrance. WWE security really is the worst.

In order to get around the ban, Santino decided to take it upon himself to employ Rosa as his intern. This was as good as the story got; it was dropped a few weeks later ahead of the WrestleMania XXV Battle Royal to crown Miss WrestleMania, a Battle Royal which represented Mendes' second match on the main roster. Ironically, it was won by Santino.

2009 was not a good time for women's wrestling in WWE.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
