From Nov. 2004 to May 2005, Diamond Dallas Page was a member of the Total Nonstop Action roster.

In 2002, he was starting over from the bottom in WWE after the Invasion angle. He was drafted to the SmackDown brand, and was slowly working his way back up when he badly injured his neck in a match against Bob Holly. At that point he decided to let his contract run out and call it a career. However, he wanted to prove that he still had something left in the tank. He signed on with TNA due in part to his friendships with Jeff Jarrett and Dusty Rhodes.

This was during the Fox Sports Net era of Impact, when the show aired on Friday afternoons. Just like in WCW, DDP feuded with Raven and then moved on to Jarrett (which every former big star in WCW and WWE had to do). However, Page was once again unable to re-capture the success he’d experienced years ago. While the run was much less embarrassing than his WWE one, he didn’t win the World Title and in his last match he teamed up with Ron Killings in a losing effort to The Outlaw (Billy Gunn) and Monty Brown.

In an interview with RCRW a few years ago, Page revealed that the main reason he left the promotion was over money. When it came time to renegotiate a deal, the two sides were far apart, so at the age of 49 he decided he was ready to call it a career on the main stage.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
