11 United States Champions (Who Didn't Come From America)

8. Finlay

The United States Championship came to Northern Ireland in 2006, when Finlay defeated Bobby Lashley for the strap on an episode of SmackDown. Hornswoggle had only just began appearing at this point, and Finlay had recently become a part of the King's Court with King Booker and William Regal.

Finlay only held the title for 49 days (interestingly enough the same amount of time that Lashley held it for), before dropping it to Mr. Kennedy in a triple threat match that also included the former Bobby. Finlay's reign wasn't the most memorable, but it was just-rewards for a veteran who will go down in history as one of wrestling's toughest men.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
