The rules of a table match have always been one of the simplest rules in the gimmick match world - simply put your opponent through a table. Of course it should be explained that someone putting themselves through a table, either by accident or on purpose (both have happened) doesn't count. In order to win, you have to physically drive your opponent through some rejects from the Ikea factory. As can be expected from WWE, some of the ways people have gone through tables have been typically insane; with people falling from ladders to others going through 3 or 4 tables at a time. Cue a match between Cody Rhodes & Big Show at Extreme Rules. Winning a tables match on a normal day is a hard task for anybody, but Rhodes was faced with putting one of the biggest and heaviest wrestlers through a table. With the likelihood of Cody putting Show through a table with a jackknife powerbomb being pretty low, they creatively came up with a way for him to win. As Big Show was trying to enter the ring, Cody caught him with a dropkick, causing Big Show to lose his footing, and, well, put that foot through a table. Initially everyone was confused as to whether a leg through a table counted, but it did, and Cody was declared the winner.
