11 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (29 Sep)

Downs...

1. A Silly, Sloppy Segment

Bryan Danielson
AEW

Hindered by The Super Elite's more annoying tendencies as characters, the stable's segment with Bryan Danielson got to its destination of diverting the 40-year-old's course away from Kenny Omega but took a rough road to get there.

The Elite's wackiness undermined what should be the high-profile storyline in AEW. Brandon Cutler and MT Nakazawa were unwanted comedic distractions after The Good Brothers and Adam Cole had had their time on the microphone. Danielson somehow got "Kenny no-balls" over as a nickname and chant, which is fun, but the tone was flippant and jovial in a segment that demanded a little more heft.

Such is the frustration with these characters. Coming out of one of the most revered and impactful matches in AEW history, the tone was immediately switched back to something approaching playful cockiness. It undermines the Elite's presence as top characters in the promotion and Kenny's as its top champion.

Danielson vs. Nick Jackson will be great though. No doubt.
