11 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Jan 29)

4. Britt Baker Turns The Corner

What a difference a week makes.

Britt Baker was all at sea in last week's Jericho Cruise promo, coming off shaky, uncomfortable, and far from confident in her delusional heel promo. Here, the dentist was a lot better. It was night and day as she ran through similar material aimed at Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross (whom she shredded for continually getting wrestlers' names wrong on commentary), and the crowd. Her assuredness and confidence were on a different level and now, suddenly, her heel act feels like it may have legs.

What Britt is doing here is similar to Lana's current character on Raw. She's completely delusional, as illustrated by her annoyance that the commentary team only every put her over as a dentist despite doing the exact same thing herself seconds before. Picking on the sentimental announcing favourites is smart, too, because Tony and Jim are so beloved and can't realistically fight back. She's literally bullying a couple of old men.

A big improvement. Let's hope it continues.
