11 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Fyter Fest 2021 Night 1

4. Dr. Britt Baker Recovers From Middling Early Title Run

Britt Baker
AEW

The cheeseburger-themed feud advanced via Vickie Guerrero in-ring horror show was such bullsh*t that fans thought it was precisely that: a bullsh*t ruse that could not possibly happen because the prospect was so unthinkably bad. Fans were in denial, worked by the initials of the company in a telling show of bias. Sometimes, rarely, but sometimes, AEW is very bad. This wasn't acknowledged by many when it should have been.

This wasn't one of those times.

Dr. Britt was on tremendous form here with a more simplistic approach to selling a match: she cut a masterful wrestling promo in which she balanced the purpose of the wrestling promo very well. Baker is the star, Nyla Rose an also-ran that she must, for the good of her division, make relevant once more. Baker also reminded fans that Rose has defeated her in the past. Nailing the insult/put over one-two immaculately, Baker improved this feud immeasurably.

That's why she's the ace.
