11 Ups & 10 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2020
1. Brian Myers
Where on Earth do we start with Brian Myers?
The booking of the former Curt Hawkins since returning to Impact Wrestling has been questionable to say the least. Right at the start of his return, it genuinely looked like Impact Wrestling were going to turn the former Edgehead into a main event level star, with a World Championship challenge against Eddie Edwards being his first match in the company. Even in defeat, Myers came away from that 11 August collision looking like a hugd deal.
Unfortunately, that's been as good as it's gotten for Brian Myers' Impact Wrestling venture.
He's since found himself floating around the midcard in a multitude of tedious 'rivalries' with Willie Mack, Tommy Dreamer, Swoggle, Crazzy Steve, and TJP. On one hand, they do all align together - Swoggle helped Dreamer defeat Myers in their Hardcore Halloween Match, Crazzy Steve saved Swoggle from further harm at Turning Point, and TJP stood up for Steve against 'The Most Professional Wrestler'. It's just a shame that they've done nothing to help anyone involved.
Myers could easily be doing literally anything else, but instead, he's relegated to being the guy used to fill time. It's a massive shame, of course, as Myers has proven he's more than capable of hanging in the World Championship picture. He isn't quite there yet, however, there's no justifying his current position on the roster. He desparately needs to remove himself from this slump, or he may as well just remove himself from Impact Wrestling entirely.
