11 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Aug 5)

5. Easy E

Eric Bischoff
AEW

Eyes were rolled when Eric Bischoff was spoiled as Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy's mystery moderator last week, though the former WCW executive's appearance was well-played and made a lot of sense.

The TNT association is obvious. WCW ran on the network for years and this was Bischoff's first appearance there in over two decades, justifying his inclusion. That Tony Khan and Easy E recently buried the hatchet on an AEW podcast facilitated this and on top of everything, Bischoff has always been a great television performer, no matter what people have to say about him behind the scenes.

Eric did a good job here, calling the Super Wednesday debate from the stage while Cassidy and Jericho traded barbs in the ring. He worked as an enabler of commentary and 'Le Champion's' rage, with his decision to hand OC the debate sparking the brawl, though we'll cover the rest of the segment later.
