4. Hardy Bloody Hardy

A great example of an angle enhanced by accidental colour was that which played out between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara last night, with Hardy's forehead p*ssing blood by the end.

It began with an in-ring promo that saw Hardy seemingly ditch the Broken gimmick. He said that when he got here, he wanted to show his full range of characters, but after listening to the audience he was going to focus on just being himself. His crosshairs turned to Guevara after putting Private Party over. Rather than accepting his help, he said the 'Spanish God' had shunned him, attacking Hardy before his suspension, leading to last week's interference. Now, he was out to hurt Sammy, who jumped Matt from behind.

Long story short: Hardy ended up bloodied by a chair throw gone awry before Guevara splashed him through a table.

Hardy's injuries required 13 stitches after the show, though he isn't seriously hurt. A disgusting amount of blood left his body after the chair's leg split his head open. The story instantly feels more heated, bitter, and personal as a result of this striking visual.
