11 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Aug 5)

10. Sorry, Sue

Sue's car

Vehicle angles are almost always lame in professional wrestling and yes, basing a feud around Trent's mom's car is pretty wacky, though what transpired after Best Friends vs. Santana and Ortiz fits the characters.

Chuck Taylor and Trent and goofy and off-kilter; the Inner Circle guys are tough, gritty street fighters. Fueled by defeat, Ortiz and Santana went after the car, smashing it up with the madball and a sledgehammer, tagging it with spray paint, and talking trash to close. This led to a Best Friends promo stood in front of the trashed vehicle later on. Chuck said Ortiz and Santana had made a liar of him as he'd promised to keep Sue's ride safe while Trent called their foes cowards, announced the rematch, and said Santana and Ortiz would have to apologise to Sue (via video call) when they lose.

A good, p*ssed-off promo from Chuck and Trent, following on from the destruction. Smashing up a vehicle after taking an L feels exactly like something Santana and Oritz would do.
