11 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 10)

8. Shot Called

Michael Elgin made it loud and clear this week. The reason for his interference in Eddie Edwards' and Brian Cage's match one week ago was because he was sick and tired of Impact management putting all these roadblocks in front of him when he's already proven himself.

After running through some of the obstacles he's overcome, such as Pro Wrestling NOAH legend Marufuji at Bound For Glory, 'Big Mike' issued a challenge to Edwards. They've already had a match signed for the 12 January pay-per-view, so Elgin is demanding Eddie put his Call Your Shot trophy on the line. He didn't have much more to add to this - simple and to the point.

Should the challenge be accepted and should Elgin then go on to come out victorious, he'll easily be able to reinsert himself back into the World Championship scene. Either Elgin or Edwards could really do with something like that at this stage of their careers, seeing as they're sort of just floundering around waiting for something to crop up that involves them.
