11 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2020 (So Far)
Ups...
11. An Improved Johnny Swinger
If there's one thing your writer never saw happening as it pertained to Impact Wrestling, it was Johnny Swinger actually becoming bearable when on-screen. Nevertheless, 'The Swing Man' has indeed become alright - not great by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly nowhere near as tedious as he once was.
He did, however, start the year as he meant to go on, becoming increasingly irritating in his hunt for a tag team partner. Willie Mack and Glenn Gilbertii were both unsuccessful attempts, but he seems to have found a friend in Chris Bey. The duo, known as The Finesse and Bench Press Express, have been delightful together thus far. Granted, it's mostly been down to the in-ring performances of Bey, but Swinger has actually changed the way he intervenes in matches on behalf of 'The Ultimate Finesser'. No longer is he getting involved 24/7, but rather picking his moments to make a real change to the match's outcome.
Tremendous stuff. Long may it continue.
