11 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2020 (So Far)
10. Impact, You Tease
This is a more recent one, but depending on how it eventually plays out, it may become one of the most talked about periods in Impact Wrestling history.
As we approach the 18 July Slammiversary pay-per-view, Impact have been promoting numerous teases throughout their social media accounts and the weekly episodes, particularly with regards to the round of WWE releases from a few months ago. Out of the crop of talent who were released on the infamous Black Wednesday, an abundance of them were former Impact stars. EC3, Kurt Angle, Eric Young, Curt Hawkins, Luke Gallows, and Mike and Maria Kanellis have all appeared for the company in years gone by, the first three of course being former World Champions. Teases have been thrown all over the place, with rumours of at least one of these names appearing on 18 July.
Additionally, Impact have straight up confirmed that a former World Champion will be appearing at the pay-per-view, again showing a video package detailing some of the former champs who aren't currently tied down anywhere. The likes of Bully Ray, James Storm, and Chris Sabin all showed up in the package, hinting at a comeback for any of those men. With a mystery competitor set for the Slammiversary main event, perhaps we'll be seeing one of these men filling that spot alongside Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin, and Trey.
Finally, we have to give a mention to Aces & Eights. Rumours have been running rampant that the gang will be making a returning to Impact ever since D'Lo Brown cheekily revealed his club cut at the conclusion to a recent episode. He and Mr Anderson were set to return under the Aces & Eights banner at Impact's TNA throwback show over WrestleMania weekend, so perhaps a full club reunion with new members could be on the cards.
