11 Ups & 4 Downs From ALL IN 2018
2. Pure Insanity
Chaos was guaranteed from the moment Hangman Page vs. Joey Janela was transformed from vanilla singles clash to a Chicago Street Fight. These two were always going to go nuts, and damn near murder each other with the kind of risky spots that helped build their reputations in the first place, so while this clash offered few surprises, it was pure exhilaration from bell to bell
Joey Janela is a lunatic. The mad c*nt works like he has a deathwish, consenting to bumps that are likely shaving months of his wrestling career at a time. By the end, his entire torso was a battered, swollen, bulbous mess. This style could well ruin him, but the visceral thrill his riskiest matches bring is undeniable.
Hangman Page is a lunatic. He actually had the balls to hit his Rite of Passage finisher (a risky back-to-belly piledriver) from the top of a ladder through a table for the conclusion, and pulled it off to perfection. His fearlessness is one of his greatest traits, and in a year of incredible improvement, Page may have just delivered the strongest singles match of his career.
Nobody could possibly have asked for more from this glorious trainwreck of a bout. Though traditionalists may well be appalled by the risks taken, it delivered everything it promised - and even found room for a couple of fun comedy spots.
