11 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Dec 4)

6. Three Of The Best

While there are times when SmackDown's tag team division booking gets borderline repetitive (to be fair, there are only so many times you can pit the same few units against each other before this inevitably happens), more often than not, the simplicity with which they're manoeuvred is a joy. This was the case again last night.

Cesaro, Xavier Woods, and Jey Uso met in a singles Triple Threat. To the surprise of nobody, it was one of the best things on the show.

The amount of time these men have spent in the ring together over the years means they can't help but deliver something fun. Here, they transcended the problematic WWE three-way formula (in which one performer politely waits on the outside while the other two grapple) with fast, fluid action, punctuated by plenty of momentum shifts. Everyone got a chance to shine, the crowd were entertained, and Cesaro's Tyler Bate-esque Big Swing/backpack spot was one of the night's most memorable.

Jey Uso's victory led to some post-match jaw-jacking, and we're apparently getting The Bar vs. The Usos in a rap battle next week. Remember the time Bo Dallas roasted professional 'rapper' Flo Rida in one of these things? Halcyon days.
