11 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Dec 4)

2. The Miz & Shane's Boring Relationship

WWE flew Shane McMahon to Austin, Texas last night purely so could stand backstage, stroke himself to the sight of his World Cup trophy, then engage in a meaningless back-and-forth with The Miz. It lasted less than sixty seconds. Good on the Commissioner for scoring his easiest payday of the year, but this was pointless.

The main issue is that this brief interruption brought nothing new to the table. Miz asked why Daniel Bryan had been assigned as his night's interviewee, reiterated his proposal that him and Shane should be a tag team, then left. That was it. No character development, no new angles, nothing. Just a pile of fluff that should've been left on the cutting room floor, as its only accomplishment was getting McMahon on television.

There's a good programme somewhere in Shane McMahon vs. The Miz, but this ain't it, chief.
