11 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 9)

Ups...

11. A Good Sign

Private Party going over The Young Bucks in the tag team tournament was the right choice and bodes well for how The Elite will book themselves going forward.

Being cynical about The Bucks, Cody, and co.'s pushes was easy early on, as wrestling history tells us that most stars find it extremely difficult not to favour themselves when they're got the pencil. On top of this, many an eye was rolled when the tourney brackets were revealed and pointed towards another Bucks/Lucha Brothers clash in the second round. Both concerns were averted with Marq Quen and Isiah Kasidy's triumph.

There's obviously a long, long way to go yet, but the Jackson brothers haven't won since Double Or Nothing, Omega is on his own three-match skid, and so is Hangman Page. While Cody is the exception, the crowd receives him like the biggest star in the universe. His positioning is justified.

Let's hope this continues.
