11 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (May 12)
6. The Perfect Pairing
You don't anyone to tell you just how good Ethan Page and Josh Alexander work together. They've been proving it for years on the independent circuit, and have simply excelled even further since uniting under the Impact banner. This week was perhaps one of their greatest examples.
Defending the World Tag Team Championships against the deadly tandem known as The Smoes, Page and Alexander took on vastly different roles in their latest title defence. While 'The Walking Weapon' chose to be the no-nonsense straight man of the team, 'All Ego' wrestled a more comedic match, grabbing one of his opponents' hands and wrestling for him. To be fair, he had no other choice, seeing as one superkick was apparently enough to knock him out. Having these different styles from the champions made for an extremely interesting match.
The Northern Assault tag finish allowed The North to cling on to the titles, like there was ever going to be a different outcome. This is now the second time Page and Alexander have had this sort of match during the no crowds period - if we've learned anything, it's that they can be just as entertaining without a live audience as they are with one in attendance.
