11 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 30)
10. Dolph Doesn't Care
This version of Dolph Ziggler is more compelling than the "it should've been me!" whiner that collided with Kofi Kingston a few weeks ago. His new bit isn't all that different, but continually going after Shawn Michaels and Goldberg in his promos works, his delivery isn't as forced, and the writers are serving him well.
Last night saw Ziggler throw barbs at everyone complaining on Twitter about his Superkick on HBK the previous week. "Too bad," he said. He claimed he doesn't care, then ripped into Mick Foley, calling him "a walking pile of catchphrases," then mentioned facing The Miz at SummerSlam, saying that 'The A-Lister' "isn't even the best wrestler in his house."
It was good, solid stuff from Dolph, and the best part is that he definitely cares, deeply, just like anyone else who has ever gone out of their way to claim they don't. That's good heeling.
