11 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jul 2)

5. Andrade & Apollo Finally Clash

Weeks of build finally made it to the ring as Andrade and Apollo Crews clashed on the midcard. The former Titus Worldwide man had spent most of his recent time searching for 'El Idolo' backstage, leading to a confrontation between him and Zelina Vega last week, with the former Thea Trinidad accusing Apollo of hitting on her. It was done to lure Apollo into Andrade's beatdown, and they took their beef to the next level on last night's SmackDown.

While the duo definitely have a better match in then, this six-minuter was perfectly cromulent. Two of the roster's more athletic wrestlers are always going to craft a few fun spots when booked against each other, and that was the case last night, with the action largely fast-flowing, fluid, and exciting, particularly when Crews was getting his sh*t in.

If Apollo was looking for revenge, he would've been disappointed. Taken out by Vega's signature Hurricanrana from the apron, he hit the announce table hard and was helpless to avoid the Hammerlock DDT, followed by the inevitable 1-2-3. It's back to the drawing board for him, though the feud will almost certainly continue.
