11 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jul 2)

4. Bayley: The Voice Of Reason

Babyfaces showing spine was a big theme on last night's SmackDown, and Bayley was one of the most prominent examples.

The current SmackDown Women's Champion talked a lot of sense during her appearance on Nikki Cross' Moment of Bliss. Instead of sugarcoating her thoughts on the Cross/Alexa Bliss situation, Bayley got right to the heart of the matter, telling the Scot that she shouldn't let herself do Alexa's bidding. Nikki was stuck in denial. When she asked with Bayley had called 'The Goddess' a liar, the champ double-down, pointing out that while Cross is out there winning all the matches, Alexa is the one reaping the benefits.

Unwilling to accept that she's being played like a fiddle, Cross demanded a bout with Bayley there and then. This led to their brief singles clash, and in pushing the Alexa/Nikki dynamic forward while presenting Bayley as a smart, switched-on champion, this segment was a success.
