WWE announcers are given to using hyperbole and stretching the truth all the time. And we as fans have given to turning a deaf ear to a lot of it, because it would drive us crazy if we pushed for accuracy and truth at all times.

However, we’ve got to ding Michael Cole for a forehead-slapper he told during the kickoff show tag match. Cole noted that the tag team division on Raw was heating up, with the Club, Revival, Bar and champs all in the mix, saying it was “as competitive as it’s ever been.”

Let that roll around in your head for a minute.

Yes, announcers stretch the truth. But come on. The only other notable teams on the Raw roster are Rhyno & Heath Slater, Apollo Crews & Titus O’Neil and the Miztourage. “As competitive as it’s ever been” indeed.

Hell, NXT has a much more robust tag team division.
