11 Weirdest Freaks In Wrestling History

5. The Gobbledy Gooker Saves Thanksgiving!

€œEverybody has speculated as to what might be in the egg. Is it a dinosaur; is it a rabbit, balloons...is it the Playmate of the Month? Who knows? Well, the way it sounds to me right now the speculating is all over!" - Mean Gene Okerlund, introducing the Gobbledygooker
Too bloody right, the speculating was over. After weeks of teasing, at Survivor Series 1990 the mysterious egg that had been carted to WWF events was revealed to contain€ a giant turkey. No, better than a giant turkey€ a giant dancing turkey. No, actually we can do you one better than that€ a giant dancing turkey, played by Hector Guerrero, older brother of Eddie and son of Gory. That€™s kind of like casting Terry Crews to play little orphan Annie, or perhaps more like hiring the talented scion of a major Mexican wrestling family to play a dancing turkey. Met with the delightful sound of the entire human race booing with one voice, the WWF quickly readjusted, and the Gobbledy Gooker vanished from their programming, only to resurface €“ like the Mantaur €“ in the form of the occasional self-deprecating insider joke or comedy guest appearance a decade or two later. The amazing thing is that they managed to get people to shell out actual money to see what was inside the egg: and, to be fair to them, they never told anyone it€™d be any good. It wasn€™t. It was a giant dancing turkey, both literally and metaphorically.
