In New Japan Pro Wrestling today, Kazuchika Okada is arguably the biggest star in the company.

He has won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on a number of occasions and been in the main event of the January 4 Tokyo Dome show for the last two years, which is essentially the WrestleMania of Japan. His star will continue to rise, however hard that is to imagine.

In TNA, Okada was presented as Okato. Well, he was Okada for a while, primarily losing in dark matches, but at the beginning of 2011 Kazuchika started dressing as Kato from The Green Hornet and was nonsensically involved in the awful Samoa Joe/D'Angelo Dinero feud.

Needless to say, NJPW were angry, and the relationship with TNA was soon ended.

A year after returning to New Japan, Okada defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi for his first IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Figures.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
