11 Wrestlers Who Broke Their Necks In The Ring

The wild man Sabu was one of the most innovative professional wrestlers of recent times, bringing an entirely new - though slightly sloppy - wrestling style to America in the early to mid-1990s.

His feats were the stuff of legend. This is a man who had scars covering his body and once used Crazy Glue to seal shut an open wound. Injuries were hardly something that were unexpected during a Sabu match and it was more of a surprise if he didn't end up getting hurt before the final bell rang.

Even so, it was a surprisingly innocuous move that led to Sabu's neck being broken in a match with Chris Benoit. The Rabid Wolverine grabs Sabus leg and simply seems to hoist him into the air for what appears to have been a flapjack attempt. Unable to rotate his body in time, Sabu lands with a sickening crunch directly on top of his head, breaking his neck.

Of course, nothing can keep Sabu down for long and he was soon back, only to break his neck again in a match against Taz.

Shockingly he still wrestles to this day, proving that the man is nigh-on indestructible.
