11 Wrestlers Who Masqueraded As Rosebuds

7. Simon Gotch

Before Simon Gotch began teaming with Aiden English as The Vaudevillains, he was an 11-year veteran of the independent scene. Gotch's gimmick there wasn't too different to the one he has now, as he was best known as Ryan Drago, an old-timey grappler in the vein of George Hackenschmidt and Frank Gotch.

Before Simon Gotch began teaming with Aiden English as The Vaudevillains, but after his indie stint, Gotch was a Rosebud. He was a part of the party from the very beginning, known for his preposterous moustache and fondness for red and white striped shirts. A fetching red fez completed the look, although Gotch's facial expressions generally gave off a sinister air.

The future doesn't look too hot for The Vaudies, so could reverting back to the party way of a life breathe new life into Gotch's career? I dare say it would work as well for Gotch as it did for Rose.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
