11. Drew Gulak

Fired: Technically, Drew Gulak quit WWE rather than being outright fired, but it was hella' weird that the company let someone so heavily involved on weekly TV run his contract down and leave on 16 May. It didn't take long for reports to surface that several other workers within WWE were stunned that the talented technical wizard was now a free agent.

Rehired: Not for long.

A mere 11 days after exiting the promotion, Gulak returned to WWE and slid gracefully back into plans for mass TV taping blocks at the Performance Center. Anyone peeved that WWE referred to him as Daniel Bryan's "training partner" during his brief sabbatical was immediately pleased to know D-Bry has his pal back again.

Had WWE decided against bringing him back, there's no doubt Drew could've found a role in AEW, the NWA or pretty much any other promotion out there. He's hardly ever going to be Vince McMahon's favourite wrestler, and yet the guy has ring skills by the bucket load.

It's a major positive that his promising angle with Bryan wasn't cut short.
