Stone Cold Steve Austin has often been described as being the 'poster boy' of the Attitude Era, so it is no surprise to see him crop up on a vast number of posters from that time. On two occasions, however, Austin was at the forefront of the advertising campaign whilst not having a match scheduled at the event.

The first of these was Ground Zero: In Your House (1997), where Austin did appear in an in-ring segment that ended with him giving Jim Ross a Stone Cold Stunner. The second didn't see Austin show his face at all, as he was injured by the time Fully Loaded came around in July 2000. Well, I say injured, I mean he was rehabbing his neck after undergoing major surgery on it and also recovering from being run over by Rikishi.

Did Fully Loaded suffer without him? Not at all. The Rock defended the WWF Championship against Chris Benoit in the main event, whereas elsewhere on the card Triple H beat Chris Jericho and The Undertaker defeated Kurt Angle. WWF in 2000 was stacked.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
