The Undertaker has appeared on a total of three pay-per-view posters that he failed to wrestle on, putting him joint top in that regard. It is often an aspect of The Deadman's career that is overlooked, the fact that during the 1990s and early 2000s the man was just so dang marketable. Even as we moved through the mid-2000s, the man is so iconic that his presence on a poster adds extra weight to a show.

1999 was a particularly tough year for The Phenom when it came to missing shows that he featured on the poster for. He missed both Unforgiven and Armageddon that year, the first through story and the second through injury.

Well, in truth it was injury for both. 'Taker tore his groin whilst teaming with Big Show, and as a result he featured in the ring less and less. Mr. McMahon threatened to remove him from the main event at Unforgiven if he didn't compete in a Casket Match, to which The Deadman basically told McMahon to shove it.

'Taker was advertised on the poster for Armageddon too, but managed to tear his pectoral muscle whilst rehabbing his groin, and ended up missing eight months of action in total. Undertaker's silhouette also featured on the poster for Survivor Series 2005 but he didn't appear at that event until the closing stages, returning to scare the living bejeezus out of Randy Orton and his father Bob.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
