11 WWE Wrestlers You Didn’t Know Appeared In WCW

3. Rob Van Dam

As far as menacing ring names go, Robbie V certainly wouldn't even rank on a list like that; and yet, it was exactly what future WWE Champion Rob Van Dam would go by in WCW. It's interesting to watch, seeing him as a naive young kid who was willing to do anything to learn. Van Dam has often cited this time as an educational period, and it's something you can see clearly as he's as green as ever, but is obviously very skilled for so early in his career. Van Dam is also showing glimpses of what would eventually define his characters in ECW and WWE; the flashy martial arts, the fun baby face attitude that he manages to make work in an age of cynicism and that devil may care flare which catapulted him to the top of the business. Robbie V may be a distant memory of the achievements that Rob Van Dam had in the WWE, but his early career is certainly a fun one to watch.
