As the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, the Honky Tonk Man antagonized young viewers as being the most despicable heel they had ever seen. But perhaps his lesser known accomplishment was bringing his unique brand of villainy to WCW in 1994, where he spent a cup of coffee with the promotion challenging Johnny B. Badd for the World Television Championship. His stint in WCW was mired in reports of arguments with the higher-ups in the company, which culminated in Eric Bischoff gleefully firing him. It was a shame, as Honky Tonk Man would have been a perfect fit with the rest of WCW's roster at the time, and could have seen him become one of their top heels. A potential world title run for Honky Tonk Man wasn't in the cards, but it's fun to look back and see where the road took one of the most colorful superstars in wrestling history.
