11 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Footballers

8. Lawrence Taylor

Football Enzo Amore
NFL/WWE

More a footballer who (very) briefly wrestled than a wrestler who was a footballer. But hey, he headlined WrestleMania! LT was widely considered one of the greatest American footballers ever, at the time of his retirement having two SuperBowl rings around his fingers and countless accolades too numerous and boring to list. Some 'legal issues' meant he was all too willing to take WWF up on their offer in 1995, and to the benefit of almost nobody, he bested Bam Bam Bigelow in one of the most poorly-conceived WrestleMania headliners of all time. It made wrestling look like a joke, but Taylor emerged with quite a lot of credit. He'll be inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame any year now.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
