5. Shinsuke Nakamura

It's safe to say that many people see Shinsuke Nakamura's WWE run as disappointing. Aside from cool entrances and the occasional flashes of in-ring brilliance, there hasn't been a lot to the King of Strong Style's body of work to suggest he's the all-conquering master of his craft his hardcore fans tout him as. Some who have never seen his work in Japan even go as far as saying he's overrated, lazy, or downright bad.

However, looking at his pre-WWE career, that's patently not the case. The reason Nakamura was so hyped upon signing with WWE was because he had established himself as one of the best wrestlers in the world in New Japan. His match with Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 9 stole the show and earned him a 5 star rating, and his G1 Climax final with Hiroshi Tanahashi earned the Wrestling Observer's "Match of the Year" award. Both of those matches were in 2015, the year before Nakamura signed.

Maybe it's age, maybe it's the quirks of WWE's style, but whatever the reason, people are hoping we get to see the old Shinsuke Nakamura again, and soon.
