2016 is drawing to a close, and inevitably we will begin to take a look back at the year that saw a jobber with no chin become one of the most popular wrestlers in North America. Professional wrestling, you are an immensely weird world. 2016 has also seen the return of the brand split, Erick Rowan vs. The Rock at WrestleMania, and whole lot more. It has been unusual, to say the least.

One thing that hasn't changed this year however has been the back and forth jabs and jibes from the men and women of WWE. If anything this has been the best year for insults in a long time, with numerous stars coming across as far freer with a microphone in their hands.

Chris Jericho has returned to his best, Enzo Amore has been a welcome addition to the vocal side of the roster, and we've heard what I believe are described as 'zingers' from pretty much everyone on the roster this side of Apollo Crews.

Just missing out are gems from Kevin Owens ("redesign, rebuild, replaced"), Dean Ambrose ("you're not as good as you think you are") and many more, but read on to find out what makes my list of best WWE insults in 2016. Yes Chris Jericho, you have made the list.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
