12 Biggest Stories From Ring Of Honor's Final Battle - And What They Mean For 2019

7. Flip Gordon Beats Bully With Help From An Extreme Legend

For much of the past year Bully Ray has lived up to his name, tormenting many of ROH’s young stars -- chief among them, Flip Gordon. Unfortunately for Flip, he’d previously failed to defeat Ray on multiple occasions and was frequently made a fool of by the far larger and more experienced superstar. At Final Battle, Flip finally had an opportunity to unleash his year-long frustrations on Ray in a no-rules “I Quit” match.

Ray's anger quickly spilled over to others as he attempted to hit former ROH owner Cary Silkin with a kendo stick, but Christopher Daniels stepped in front of the shot. Ray then turned his ire to Flip’s girlfriend, threatening to powerbomb her through a table, but he was halted when Silkin retaliated with a cane shot of his own. Run-ins from Silas Young, Cheeseburger, and Colt Cabana followed before ECW legend Sandman appeared. He spit beer into Bully's face and handed his kendo stick to Flip who mercilessly beat Ray with it until he quit.

While the victory came with the help of multiple stars, it was a satisfying conclusion to Flip’s yearlong torment at the hands of Bully Ray. Gordon's impressive rise will likely continue and perhaps the breakout star can finally transition his momentum into a championship victory in the coming year.
